• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

BikeSDP checking in. Been lurking here a while. <snip> I won't ask the typical newbie questions about oil, tire choice, tire pressure, mileage and fuel capacity, battery, etc. I've done a fair amount of modifications, so hopefully I can contribute.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi, BikeSDP! Glad you're not lurking anymore :)

Cafe Husky,

I have a 1981 250 WR that I am the second owner of. I purchased the bike in 1984. I was very excited to find Cafe Husky as a resource to help me learn more about it and to find the network of Husky enthusiasts.

I am preparing for a ride this July in Colorado, and look forward to posting some of my questions and tapping into the vast knowledge of Husky owner's on this site.

Regards,

Steve (Luckypuck77)

Hey, Luckypuck77! Sounds like you've got a gem of a bike, for sure. Husky T's Vintage forum will probably be abe to provide you with heaps of assistance:thumbsup:

Hello all Husky fans,

I'm Peter, a vintage bike fan/collector from the west coast of Sweden.
We have today three Husqvarna vintage bikes in the garage, CR 500 -83, WR 500 -84 and a WR 390 -79. It's only the WR from -84 that can be started today. The CR is under restoration at the moment, and the WR 500 -84 is next in line to be restored.
I have a Cheney/Yamaha with some Husqvarna components (suspension, seat.....) that I try to ride as often as it will run and I have the time to do it.

Newby here. In south jersey and just picked up a new 08 TE450. I do everything (casual trail ride, hard trail ride, dual sport, hare scrambles, enduros, and motocross) ao I wanted the ultimate do-it-all bike. A member in Advrider told me to come check out Cafe husky so here I am!

Welcome!

Columbia CA! I really like that town

A friend had an idea he could get rich panning for gold so we visited and drove up Italian Bar road looking for places to do that. He did indeed find 1 nugget about 0.1" in diameter, and of course many gold colored flakes.

Hello, HighDesertRat! Central OR sounds like the perfect place for a TE610 :D

Central OR does seem like the perfect place for the 610, I am loving the desert after 40 long years of rain!!

Funny how that works. Rain sounds like Heaven to this So. Cal. rider. Welcome aboard.:)

Hello Coffee, I live on Italian Bar Rd. I'm putting on a DS ride this weekend with the club I belong to up "I BAR" and over to Cherry Lake near Yosemite. Been getting rain up the mountain everyday for the last week.

The bay area is't that far, I could show you some stuff
