• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi --

I've been lurking for a few weeks until I could pick up my new SMR 450. Picked it up yesterday at Hall's and couldn't be happier with the bike and the dealer. This is my first Husqvarna and first experience with Hall's. I appreciate the way that they explained the operation of motorcycle as well as performance characteristics of the bike. They also told me the kinds of things they would do for me after the sale; i.e., product and technical information and support, etc.

Very happy to find this site. :notworthy: I like the quality of information and the tone of the posters. Looking forward to many quality threads and, Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute as my knowledge and experience with the SMR grows.

Cheers!

Ray

Woo-hoo! Nothing like a new bike, especially if it's a super moto machine:applause: Hope you enjoy your time here at CafeHusky, sm2 :)

Greetings, all!

I just got a 2006 SM610 about a week ago, so I'm just checking in here. I love the bike, I just have to replace the seat!

I'm in the Philadelphia, PA suburbs right now.

Welcome to CafeHusky, DesmosDromos :applause: Are you a Ducati owner, too? The seat on my `07 SM610 was horrific when I first got it but it's better now...or maybe I'm just used to it? Nice to have you here at CafeHusky

Hi Guys

Looking at getting a 310 and thought I better see what you guys have been saying about them.

I'm riding a Berg 550 at the moment and it is way to powerful for me in the single so looking to get something more flickable.

Guess I start looking at the posts and see what's been said:thumbsup:

Cheers

JT

Welcome to CafeHusky, JT  Lots of info on the 310's in the 4-stroke forum. Good luck in your search for a new bike

Andy Gibbs here from Nashville, TN. I JUST THIS MORNING put a deposit on a 2009 Husky TXC 450**************************************** For the past year or so, I had my heart set on a KTM 300... the last week or so, I've been investigating the TXC. Last night I made up my mind, and called my friendly dealer to buy it. I HOPE to pick it up on Tuesday!

I'm coming from a YZ250, and am very much looking forward to this bike! This site has already been an invaluable resource in my research. I look forward to hanging out here as well as contributing where I can.

Thanks!

Hi I am Justin from the UK.Recently changed from BMW to Husky.Swapped out the G650X for the 2008 610 and the G450X for the TE450.Had enough of the crunchy, nothcy gearbox on the 650 and the high service costs of the 450.
Both the new bikes are on the way to being run in - so glad I swapped to the huskys both are much more rewarding to ride.
The 450 is so smooth and will tackle mud really well without loseing much traction. The 610 is just getting beter and better the more I ride it.I may have to make a coupel of mods. The gear selector is a bit too close to the foot peg with size 12 boots on and I may need to lift the bars up a little but really these are minor niggles.Just keep smileing all the time Im riding, for me this is what its all about.

Good to have found the forum

noob to this forium

Hi all,
this is my second husky 06 SM510R. the first one broke 6th gear playing with gsxer and R-1's. I sent it to a shop to update the bike and they made a mess of the bike. They ended up giving me a ducati hypermotard which was an interesting ride for a piece of shyte. Nice engine, horible suspension/geometry.
anyway just got an other 06 sm510r with 40 hours and 1200 miles on it.
The bike has just been sitting because of a work injury by the former owner.
Its running now and the carb is sorted out but its very noisey. The bike had a delaminiation of the metal/rubber on the intake manifold. The valve adjustmen is in spec so i'm thinking burnt piston. Fun stuff. We will see.
anyway thanks for reading this blip

Thanks for the greetings WoodsChick.

Looking forward to contributing. Also welcome to the new members since me! lol.

Hello from Melbourne Australia.

My first post. I’m a 50 years old and have an XR440 which I purchased new in 1999. No new bike since has really grabbed my attention, but for the WR125. I raced a Yamaha 125 in 2000 when an injury ended my session. I have always loved small bikes for racing. You can only ride so fast in the bush anyhow.
In 2000 the fastest 125s were the TMs and Huskies. These bikes never really got a good run in the popular press.

Looking at the 2010 WR125, I wonder if the new frame is really an advantage. The motivation behind the offset rear shock was to allow the adaptation of fuel injection for the four strokes without having to modify the engines. I guess if on the WR125 the carburettor and air filter duct is straight then there maybe an advantage ?

Is anyone able to give an impression how the wr125 handles compared to the other 125s ?

Welcome to CafeHusky, Topari  Lots of WR125 owners here, and most of them are discussing their 125's in the 2-stroke forum. I'm certain they can answer your questions

New to Group

Joined a few weeks ago, learned a lot already. Recently picked up a 1980 CR390 in great shape. It had been sitting for awhile. Put in a little pre-mix and it fired right up on about the 5th kick. Great bike. Can anyone tell me the preferred crankcase oil and volume? I put Shell 30W in it for a quick test run, and had to guess at the volume, but I would rather put some good stuff in it at the right level before I run it for more than a few seconds. BTW I also have a 76 Falta 250 that I've been restoring for the last couple of years. Took it completely apart down to the last nut and bolt. It's about 95% now. Thanks in advance for any help.
