• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome to the forum! Introduce yourself here!

Welcome!

And a special welcome to you Husky Ant because you have had such terrible luck with your bike. You have more patience than I do... Stick around, I think you will enjoy this site more and more as features are added.

Hello boys and girls...

Creeper... AKA Chris at Renazco Racing here. Same Creeper as on most all the other moto-enthusiast forums.

Don't have a Husky... last Husky I had was a 250 2-stroke GP bike in the 80's. I ride an '07 Sherco 510i enduro. But, I do re-build a whole lot of seats for Husky owners. :p

Good on ya' for starting a dedicated Husky forum Coffee... I'm sure that in time it will be a fine resource for "all that is Husqvarna".

Everybody ride safe,
C

This place? You the WA guy that works for Jim?
http://www.renazco.com/

Oh wait... it's on that page... got it.

I went to James place maybe 2 years ago and talked to him, really nice guy. I had a brand new extra TE250 seat I did not need so I left it with him for others to use. It was extra because I changed to red/white on my 2006.

I hope he is doing well and can join us here.

Hi,

I just wanted to thank Mr. Coffee for starting up this site. It's great to have a Husky site.

Rick

internet retarded! Help! New to the forum. Lots of "encourgaement". Sounds like, "post, just sign on you can do it!" says michael. Have a 250 TE Husky that I love! Trapped in the backyard, haven't been able to leave recently. Look forward to the new house being to a place where we can ride again. My favorite riding buddy so far (besides michael, he paid me to say that) is Woodschick. She is amazing!

Although its not a Husky, will get to ride one of those goofy bikes (honda) at Bonneville Speedweek next week and BUBBS the following week. Hope to go fast :) Rookie bike rider. Great builder and hope I can do my part.

I really am retarded at this internet/post stuff but must now learn, not only for fun but for work. I am looking forward to smiles and fun! Oh, by the way...I can't spell so don'
t holf me to it

Whoo hoo!!!

Welcome Jeannie!!!

Your soo modest! You left out the parts of YOU being an amazing rider and one of the worlds fastest women in Land Speed racing.
Ohh..and your "Goofy bike" just dyno'd 198 at the rear wheel!!! lol.

WELCOME ABOARD!!!

A very warm welcome jeannie. :)

I'm honored you could make it on the board and hope someone could provide a trip report (with pics) of your Bonneville trip at some point. Hope your chef treats everyone well.

G'day..

Venture4th here..I've got a new TE610IE sitting over my shoulder urging me to stop typing and take it for a run, but am continuing to search out any news on the larger tanks (and I've had a glass of wine or two-experience has taught me not to mix the two..(just ask my 6th rib!) Lots of rumour, speculation, which makes it tricky to work out when/where we're likely to see them come from. Have a TE250 also, fitted with an IMS tank that has been great, but it's legs are just a bit short for longer runs, and I don't have the heart to flog it for long distances at sustained rpm. Been doing this bike thing now for best part of 25years, still love it. Will get over the junior member rating with time..

Coffee, been a big fan of your work over at TT, and the amicable nature of your posts. Makes a forum a nice spot to hang out (cafe like, even..). All the very best to you in this new home. My main day job is in web information architecture, so I'll throw in my 2 bob from time to time with the rest of this fine crowd. What do you have in mind for structuring sections of the site for the various husky flavours? Am tempted to put up a skunkworks for the TE610IE thread, thought I'd ask first..

Welcome!

The structuring of this site is something I've been agonizing over 18 hours a day for a long long time. It sort of comes down to "what do the people want to post"? The goal is to make the site as friendly as possible and not loose track of the good info....and there is a delicate balance.... beyond that I'm not sure but it is morphing on a daily basis.

At the moment people seem most comfortable posting in this main section and when it makes sense to do so I'm creating separate sections and moving threads into those new sections. The Vintage & cafe office sections are examples.

Feel free to start that thread of yours :)

Thanks for the welcome Coffee:)

I had some discusions today and it looks like it will take the best part of 3 months more to resolve my situation. England has it good and it's bad points. That will be 7 months of ownership and 4 days riding  and dog knows how much pushing.

Soooo...... I've been on the phone tonight and subject to the price being right then a 08 WR250 will be keeping me out of trouble ;) until the 510 is resolved.

This is how my business works.

Most of the time we get it it right

Once or twice a year we screw up. It happens. I put it right at my expense as quick a possible. Thats my responsiblity. Once it cost me $8000 ,and even though that hurt, I still feel good because my name is still good and my customer is happy and will come back.

Sometimes my customers screw up. I help to find the most cost effective resolution for the customer. I feel good because my name is still good and I haven't made money out of someone elses missfortune. My customer is happy and will come back.

Maybe my business ethics are just plain wrong. I DON'T THINK SO.
