Yep it's as scientific as the double talk we have received from SP and the new owners. We heard from SP that the new Husky was going after the jap bikes on all levels. Then we now hear they are the new premium brand of KTM. So not a big WAG to say yes they (new Husky) will cost more and the current KTM will be more in line with the Jap bikes. Who knows but we will find out in a few months when the actual prices will be released.
I agree, the x lights are an awesome bike, my 2012 TC 250 is just so good, they are the best handling bikes I've ever ridden, they are so good they give you the confidence to go faster and ride harder, that they make you into a better rider. I'm so disappointed that development of these bikes is stopping, with a few more years of refinement and improvements, I think they could have been one of the best bikes ever made, that's why I will be keeping my TC 250 and early in the new year I will be buying a 110th anniversary TXC 310 R and if I can swing it I will be snapping up a new 449 before they are gone forever.
I just re-read this and it sounds like i'm beating my chest with a Sherco T-shirt on. lol Just to clarify... I love my Husky 310r. It's simply addictive
Some news... http://www.moto.it/news/l-appello-dei-dipendenti-ex-husqvarna.html http://translate.google.com.au/tran...lo-dei-dipendenti-ex-husqvarna.html&sandbox=1 The appeal of the employees of the former Husqvarna While the new Husqvarna began production in Austria, is still an outstanding story of the employees of the Italian. Who wrote this open letter The employees of the former Husqvarna Cassinetta di Biandronno have titled "A cry in the wilderness" the open letter which we quote below. The sale of Husqvarna by BMW have written here . Most of the 240 employees at the plant are currently in Varese layoffs and extraordinary at the time you do not see a positive solution when it will expire. After the sale by BMW, there was also an opening by Giovanni Castiglioni , the MV Agusta, on the future of the plant when it looked like there might be a help from institutions to safeguard employment. It 'spent a lot of time when we tried to make our voice of protest for the disposal of the production site of Cassinetta. These days we read on the internet of an interview with the German magazine Motorrad Pierer and appear in the newspaper "La Provincia di Varese" in which he talks about the now former Husqvarna. Those who do not live every day the "drama" of the loss of employment, shows that the situation is now resolved and normalized. But it is not so, let's look at some passages from the interview: Pierer says that the establishment of Biandronno is in excellent condition and who do not want to sell because one day it may be helpful to produce even 30/40.000 bikes a year but that the high cost of labor in Italy does not allow it. Given that the market situation is that described by Pierer because the government still does not enact laws that protect workers and sgravino Italian firms from high taxes? The sacrifice of 250 jobs without immediate laws will not be served to us or to our children! Pierer says "My co-workers have told me that with the workers of Biandronno the agreement was reached and everything is resolved." It is not true. The agreement signed by the unions with the direction is positive for the company that wants to get rid of workers to cut prices! Rather, the idea underlying the agreement of the union is to have more time to find alternative manufacturing solutions to provide continuity of employment for employees. Those solutions that said the same direction of trying signing a document to the Ministry of Economic Development of Rome, only to break faith with the facts. And what does the Italian state to enforce it? A shares reversed the Austrian would allow this treatment to their citizens? Also significant is the passage in which Pierer washes consciousness blaming the Indian partners of the Ktm not maintain production in Italy. But if Husqvarna is owned by Pierer Industries and not of Ktm, because the Indians impose this clause in the operation of others? But please! Without these details we ask also due to these because: Why has fallen silent on the matter Husqvarna? Why the political forces that have lavished so much at the beginning have vanished into thin air? Probably this will be the last release to make our voice heard that today is a cry in the wilderness, however, we like to think that the information bodies disclose the true reality, and that the institutions of local, regional and state take back control of the situation of that operation by the Honourable Maroni called "a real crap". Let us also remember that a miss will not only employees Husqvarna, but an entire nation, Italy mockery by the Germans, Austrians and prisoner of its own laws. We continue to believe in your help! Thank you all. The employees of the former Husqvarna Motorcycles Moto.it 23/10/2013
you don't know the prices yet??? well, for germany it's: 7345 € ktm 125exc 7645 € husqvarna te125 7945 € ktm 125exc six days 9095 € ktm 350exc-f 9395 € husqvarna fe350 9795 € ktm 350exc-f six days and so on. r
No price yet for the USA; at least that I've seen. Rasputin how do those prices seem to you and are they in line with other brands over there?
maybe pierer thought that keith alexander might would the prices to congress today anyway, and didn't want to interfere. just kidding. some prices for comparison: 7295 € gas gas ec125 racing 8495 € gas gas ec300f racing 8747 € sherco 300i 8980 € sherco 300i racing 8750 € beta motor 350rr 7890 € honda crf 250r 8440 € honda crf 450r for comparison, some 2012 husky prices (the 2013 prices were extremely low for strategic reasons, so they are useless as a reference): 6449 € husqvarna wr125 8499 € husqvarna te310 r
So it looks like the new Husky will be higher over there too and we will all have to get use to paying higher prices if we want to stay with the brand. Thanks for sharing the info r.
I think we'll be looking at about $100.00 above KTM prices. Just a guess by comparing UK KTM price to UK Husqvarna price.
I would guess several hundred dollars over ktm prices, the first ones listed were 300.00 Euro more which is more then 400.00 US dollars. You are going to have to pay more for the loss of real choice between bikes other than color and a few options.
prices also depend on business strategy. uk prices: 6887 € ktm 125exc (458 € less than germany) 7237 € husqvarna te125 (408 € less than germany) so the "price gap in the uk is 350€ ($480). r
In the US "Premium" Husaberg TE-FE 250cc 4T and 2T models are $50-150 more than the closest KTM models. I'd expect Husky pricing to be similar. $8599 KTM 250 XCF-W (EXC) $8649 Husaberg FE250 $8299 KTM 250XC-W (EXC) $8349 Husaberg TE250
Husqvarna motorcycles Facebook posted a teaser picture of a prototype Husky. It will be released at EICMA? I think that was the name of the event anyway
I'm guessing it will not be anything earth shaking but hope i am wrong. I would love to see them move in a unique direction but cant see them ever being much different than their KTM counterpart. Maybe a EFI 2 stroke or something. From FB...
