  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1977 360 Auto ressurection

Finally my piston arrived, rebore done and cylinder installed.
It's great to be able to make some progress!
Also the original reason this bike was parked was due to no spark, I removed the plug lead and cut a short piece of the plug lead, I can now confirm a good solid spark!
No paint on the tank yet, that's next on the list after I test fire this engine.
Still waiting for my main parts order......IMG_20200528_204723.jpg

Why didn't I think of that Chris? The centre gasket was trying to curl up badly, but it's now in place.
Tomorrow I'll clean the grooves in the 2-3-4 shoes and install the transmission and clutch cover and sprocket cover.
I'm getting very impatient about my package from RTR Moto, last scanned in San Fran 11 days ago and no more progress since.
I still don't know why my pics from my phone end up rotated....
Tony.
Still no movement of my parcel from RTR Moto, now around seven weeks!

I have a tracking number, it has been sitting at San Francisco since the 15th of April with no change.

It took about 6 weeks to get a part from california because of the covid i guess. It finally came and the sender and i got pretty familiar in the weeks. Don't give up.

A bit of a surprise today, my parts arrived. I checked yesterday and they were still showing as being in San Francisco as they have been for an eternity, so the tracking is about as accurate as a blind driving instructor! As you guys said though, the parts appear to be amazing quality!

Glad to hear you got your parts. Sounds like the US Postal Service has crashed. I sold a side float Bing on Ebay to a guy in France this April and like your tracking number my carb's tracking stopped updating after four days. A few weeks ago Ebay made me refund the Frenchmans money, to the tune of $360 after shipping and fees. I filed a missing package report on USPS website but haven't heard anything back. Wonder if the guy in France will eventually get the carb or if I'll ever get a positive resolution out of it? At this point I no longer have any enthusiasm for the USPS.

At the rise of the virus I bought a set of masks on ebay and they were not received after 2 months, ebay drove me to made the claim and i got my money back, then 3 weeks later the masks arrived out of nowhere. I should probably pay for them!

USPS is angling for a bailout, the commercials are on the radio constantly, like every other Pseudo-Government Agency, Amtrak, etc

It has all gone to hell, I have a couple of other parcels but at least I know what to expect.
I fitted the fenders today, they fit well. The seat cover will need a little massaging with heat to get it right but it will fit nicely.
I'll get some pics tomorrow, too cold outside at the moment.
Now I need to make a start on the tank.....
Tony.

I have never been paid on a USPS missing or damaged claim. AND you cant put in a claim until 30 days after the ship date.
