• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Actual news on the KTM purchase of Husqvarna

Wow! All caps.... It is really true Troy. Speaking from experience with my Husaberg TE250, it is a mix of mostly KTM parts and some unique Husaberg parts mixed together like no other KTM model. Different larger fuel tank, suspension valving, jetting and engine tuning are specific. The polyamide sub frame sits lower than the aluminum KTM one and changes the feel and handling of the bike. The Husky will be the same story, even more so with wide ratio tranny in a linkage frame. KTM doesn't offer this combination, wide ratio means PDS only.

Are the Huskys and Husabergs totally unique bikes? No they aren't, but they are more than KTM's with different graphics and sub frame.....

i cap cuz i 4get 2 turn it off and its ezer 2 read 4 all us old guys... anybody loopout test a polyamide sub frame yet? bet there hi dollar

Nick Fahringer/Airgroup Radiant Husaberg Team, broke a sub frame at the Tennessee Knock Out Extreme Race this year. I'm not sure how he crashed though. He had to borrow one from another Husaberg rider's bike. Only time I've heard of this happening.

if one were to buy a 2014 Husaberg do you think parts would be an issue ?
I don't think so, they will still be availible. I'm not sure who will sell them though... ex Husaberg dealers, who go with Husky? Most likely any Husky dealer who signs on for the new Husky, as Husky and Husaberg are now merged. Right now, I can buy any part that crosses between Husaberg and KTM, from a KTM dealer. It will be the same with the new Huskys. , You just have to cross reference the Husaberg part numbers, over to comparable KTM part numbers. The Husaberg specific parts have to come from a Husaberg dealer, as KTM dealers can't order them.

Yes sir, I make it look like a 125 too.

Wow you're a big lad

I am small compared with you (only 185 with gear) and still 5.7 high in the air.

a 125 would be tortured by you only by riding it around the block :D

would be interesting to see how it would held up

Don't get to excited, it's old actual news lol. The problem is that Husky doesn't give actual news because there isn't much to say ;)
