• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Booster Plug

My Wuka King has arrived. Still going to wait until first service to install. One extra piece I am going to include is a rubber boot over the toggle switch
 
Mine showed up today. Hoping to get it installed by this weekend. Motor is just dead around 3k even after canisterectomy last week. I'll post performance after I get it installed.

My problem seems to come on just as the revs are crossing 3k. It's pretty strong below there and very strong after I get through 3k. If I stay hard on the throttle through 3k I don't notice the stumble but cruising around 3k and then getting on the gas is when the dump happens. Hoping to get the Wuka installed on Saturday.
 
In regard to the WukaKing, does anyone have the non-switchable model and what temp offset is "Blue Mode"?
Is there any noticeable difference in power or operation when switching between modes on the fly? Thanks
 
Just started noticing the stumbling recently. A few times while going around a slow corner at low rpm it missed a beat, and a few times while downshifting it seemed to have almost stalled while I had the clutch in.

Also lots of popping and burbling when downshifting.
 
Today I brought the bike from concessionario.Dovrebbero do this blessed update to the control unit. I hope this time will be resolved. However, when I mounted the booster plug, I noticed that solves only 99% the situation. Every time I was off the same. I will keep you updated!

Update done! First 40 km away and the problem seems to be gone. Only gas resting in second, just barely open it tends to lose a blast every time. But nothing to do with before. Now the bike is no more Dangerous!

Aggiornamento fatto! Primi 40 km e il problema sembra essere sparito. Solo a gas appoggiato in seconda, appena appena aperto tende a perdere uno scoppio ogni tanto. Ma niente a che vedere con prima. Ora la moto non è più pericolosa!

I can't wait until mine arrives. I'm sick of sitting at the lights in front of a bunch of cars worried about stalling it. Though I am that used to it now I instinctively tweak it when it stumbles and save it from stalling most times. Got my 100km service next week, so I'll wait until after that just to see if the moss makes any noticeable difference.

Wuka, Wuka, Wuka!!! Everyone now! I finally got it installed yesterday and took it for a decently long ride on the road and through the city. Then took it for a pretty decent offroad loop. I feel like I have a new bike. The motor is super strong from the bottom all the way to the top. No stutter or stalls anywhere. I tried to get it to stall from high revs and chopping the throttle. Wouldn't do it. I'm back in love with my Terra.
 
I need to finally get around to it and order the damned thing....there's a LOT I want to do to this bike, but I'm holding off doing any of it until I have a bike that has normal throttle response.

I sincerely recommend the Wuka. It's relatively affordable at $90, ships and arrives quick and is a pretty simple install with legitimate improvement. By no means am I guaranteeing the same results for you but I have had some issues with this motor running like a turd and I am very happy now that I have the Wuka installed. I see you're up in Parker. Open invite if you want to take a short trip down 25 to take mine for a spin. I have mine down in the Springs most workdays.
 
I just ordered it.... can't wait to get this issue sorted once and for all.

I plan on doing the BRMoto racks, Wolfman soft bags, a big tank once they're more of a known deal....and take this bike to Alaska.
Hell, if the tanks never come to pass I'll make do with aux bottles - the bike gets such great mileage I don't need much extra.

I had the TE630 set up for that with the 6.6 Safari, then sold it after buying a Guzzi Stelvio NTX - a bike I thought I'd have for years, and a great Alaska bike.
The TR650 was to fill that role when I sold the Stelvio, but the crap throttle response has left me very ho-hum about a bike I'm otherwise crazy about.
 
I bought my bike last month and it doesn't seem to have any stalling issues. The tech did say it received the latest ECU update.

Maybe Husky finally fixed the issue?

That looks like a plan to me. I like how it's a much cleaner install and won't require finding a good place for the sensor. The replacement sensor is reasonably priced, add the thermistors and shipping and I'm looking at roughly $50, and I'll have the stock one in case of failure, or to see about doing a v2 setup. Since they measured the baselines for it, it wouldn't be too difficult to go a step further, and add the switched offset. Or, why not make it change the offset based on ambient temperature on it's own? If two positions are good, would 3 be better? A lot of possibilities, though I'm sure the model shown would cure most issues, much like the non-switched Wuka.

Funny thing is, we had a big temp drop over the weekend. Friday night I removed the canister, and Sunday morning I went for a ride, it was around 50 degrees when I left and around 70 when I got home, mostly highway miles as I was trying to race to get a tag for KC area ADV riders before the rain hit again. This was the first time my bike ran like complete shit. Stalls, surging, and general bad behavior. I'm sure the temperature change was at fault and not the removal of the canister, but having the engine surge when you're cruising down a stretch of slab at 5k RPM is not cool.
