• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Golden Tyre GT216AA review

Yep, it went right on. Fits the same rim used for a 90/90 21. I have that tire on three dual sports now and obviously really like it.

I really like mine too buts its got 1600 miles on it and I need a new one buuuuut ZT still doesn't have them in stock.... It's been a month... Dooooh! I need my fix:busted:

I am still using the stock Michelin Enduro Competition on the 310. It seems to do fine in the loose rocks and desert tracks/sand. With four dual sport bikes, the miles go on each fairly slow, and the 310 isn't for long trips, just local trails. Not sure what tire I will go with next; have to see how many miles the Michelin makes.

HaHa for sure.
So many tires so little time. . . :)

One of my riding mates bought a used Ktm 450, it's a few years old and he's been messing with it trying to get some confidence in the front end.
Someone suggested the GT216 and with it and the last bit of fork fiddling he finally has a setup he's happy with.
We've just been out in crazy rain on the trails (there's a cyclone 400km away) and he loved it.
I've still got my Bridgestone Battlecross X30s I fitted up a few months ago in the dry weather.
They were faultless as well.
Neither of us had a moment all day.

I'm waiting for the call from zipty saying my tires are in the mail. It's getting close to crunch time... I may end up getting something else if it's longer than 1 more week. Insert sad face here...

I will give the 216AA a try. The 310R performance is not what I hoped for in sandy washes which I attribute to the skinny tire up front. I was thinking of upgrading to a 500 with beefier wheels to solve the problem but I'll try this tire first.

Sand is 80% of the terrain that I ride on. I found that the 216 helped my 511 considerably. I also increased my front rim width from 1.6 to 1.85.

My Goldetyre went flat and gave me this....

Either it flatted and washed out or flatted "as it washed out". Rider doesn't remember much except realizing he was going down?
