• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Golden Tyre GT216AA review

Ran mine in Dove Springs this weekend for the first time, I'm sold. Never had a moment of it letting loose unpredictably. When it does let go, there is plenty of warning and any other tire I have run would have left me with a mouth full of dirt in the same situation, you can really push these things. It recovers very nicely, mostly on its own. Im running Tubliss and tire is at 8 PSI, Ill probably up to 10 next time out. It hooks up like nothing Ive seen before. Expensive, but this one is worth the price of admission for me.

Are these tyres made in Italy or outsourced to Asia?
Is country of manufacture written on the tyre?

I still love my 216 fatty up front it is the best all around BUT cant wait to try my new Golden tyre 333 in the rear 18 are on the way here from Germany but the 19 are here already in the USA and I will test one next week as I wait for my 18 There are so many choices for the rear depends where or what you ride
Zip Ty should have the 18 333 Golden tyres in stock soon

There was never really a red phone in the White House, but there was a direct line to NORAD for the President.

I actually installed a phone just like this that connects Ty Davis specifically to Golden Tyre. It's on all the time and is a satellite up link to Europe.

I got out on these GTs for an extended ride this weekend. I was able to hit more gnarly stuff than last time I rode with them. I'm sold. Both front and rear GTs are awesome in wet conditions. The rear climbs wet rocks and roots with ease. Running both at 14-16 psi.

picked one of these up recently and i ran it at 14psi on my ktm 350xcf, was a pretty wet slick november day in capital forest area single track, overall i like the feel of the tire, awesome grip but i do not like how heavy it is, and how tall it is. my bike felt a tad choppered out so i kept fiddling with my sag to try and balance it out, not sure i got it to where it was ideal... also i did not like the way it felt in ruts, it was very grabby and wanted to climb up out of ruts abruptly... other than that i would say this is a badass desert tire, i just did not like the way it felt when leaned over while charging in ruts, something i ride a lot of unfortunately. bottom line, i'll keep it around for more open terrain, not sure it wil be my woods tire.

there is also a standard non fatty 216 which I am running on my AJP PR5 bike and love. Maybe you would like that better.

where did you snag that? zipty? found it, thanks... i think i may give it a try.

is it sized appropriately for a 90/90? or is it oversized like the 90/100 fat tire? which is quite a bit taller than any traditional 90/100 than i have even seen.

I'm running the 90/90-21 216 on my WR and it's pretty much a normal sized tire. I really like it. I'm putting one on my TE 511.

Just got a Golden 333 rear tire As of now all they have are 19 but next month the 18 should be here anyway I did a 40 mile 3rd loop National stuff on my 125 with the 333 on and it worked great Will keep testing trying to find a good Golden all around rear tire for the National Hare & Hounds
still have my 2 216 sticky 140/80/18 ready for king of the Moto in 23 days

I noticed on Ty's website they have the GT257. I want to replace the Dunlop 606 I have on the rear. Is the diameter similar to the 606 or the MT43 ?

I tested the MX52 in a 19" last weekend through sand and rocks, it was awesome and really handles hp well. I can't wait to try a GT Dominator 333, probably will try the 18" too.
