• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Golden Tyre GT216AA review

Hey man, I'm over in the Sac area, where have you been using that tire?
I went to Moon Rocks in Nevada last weekend and just did 50 miles of singletrack at Georgetown yesterday. I thought the golden tyre worked great under power but felt terrible under braking. I guess it's just me.

Oh! I rode Georgetown on Thursday. :-)

Well, I'm going back to a pirelli scorpion. I couldn't gel with the golden tire. I have 3 rides, about 100 miles on it. Still looks new. If anyone is interested. pm me

Sorry the tire didn't work out for you. The tire is a directional tire which has double cups on the back sides of the knobbies for increased braking power. The leading edge of the front tire usually wears first and I find it curious that your braking edge is worn more. Anyway, I understand that this tire isn't for everyone and I have no doubt that your front tire will find a happy home. :)

ok my debit card is in my hand im pullin the trigger Tinken says go for the fat one but IDK ...144 on a MX track need some input here guys

I love that place. So far, my favorite place to ride.

To be honest, I didn't realize it was directional either. It's very possible that I mounted it backwards. I'm going to give it another try on my dualsport.
Thanks for the heads up guys!

Also make sure you dont run to low of a pressure. Mine likes 3-5 pounds more than I normally run.

True statement, these tires are so fresh, with tall sidewalls, that running traditional pressure would make it seem flat tied into the truck. Then when it broke in after 40-50 miles it looked like I had a leak somewhere. Finally just bumped it up and all better.
