  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New 13 TXC 310

See, thats where I think youre wrong, because it comes on like a switch, i think the cam will only make it come on at a different time, but it wont make it come on softer. Just my thoughts, maybe i'm wrong.
Yep, it will come on at a different time... The mildest cam (400) in the G2 cam system would probably make the 310 feel like a 2 stroke. It'll give more control from idle to half throttle but then would exaggerate the mid range power hit.

I said it before I'll say it again its to bad the power doesn't come on smoother and then rev out longer!! I'm really hoping that when the guys at FAR get a chance to do some testing with there GET ECU they can find a combination that works to soften the entail hit and spread out the power!!!

Sounds like you would love the ktm/berg 350... I rode one then the 310 and the power hit is why I chose the husky.... Adds to fun factor! That plus it felt more nimble being narrower.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.

You mised the footpegs .. and sub frame when it gets tired LOL
I like the polished kickstart - easy to do
You getting in much riding ? No starting issues ?

No, we got another foot of snow. Sure would like to be able to ride it.

First race is this Sunday, but think Ill pass. Unless we have a major melt down.

No starting/starter issues at all. I am also using VPR racing fuel and this bike really likes it starting/throttle response. On prem pump fuel, it was kinda cold blooded and had to leave choke on long time. Using the kicker, she fires on one kick.

Ok, gonna button up some more things over next two weeks.

I will post the final pics in about two weeks before I wheel her in the trailer.

Thanx for all the participation and hope you enjoyed the thread.

Again I'm not much of a PC fan but if there the only ones doing a full system I might have to consider it.

I have seen a full system from Jardine at Bills and it has the head pipe canister too. Was inexpensive for the whole thing. I think Ty developed this for them. Not sure why there is not more info out there on it. I believe Bills still has it if anyone is interested.

It is no longer available

New Skid plate Design and polished Ign Cover.

Sometimes ya gotta think outside of the box. So why have a skid plate that blocks air flow?

Not sure if I like it in black/natural finish/black/anodized red.

Yes, those are all air intake vents.

Also, the breast plate is removable and I have another one I can bolt on for mud.

I'd buy one of those off of you. No joking either. I am looking for a good skid plate, was considering the TM design works. Send me a message and let me know.

I am looking at your pictures and just giggling..... I can't believe all the detail work you do on your bike! I can't imagine that bike on the trail I did yesterday called "6 Miles Of Hell"
You missed your calling, you should have been a mechanic/tuner for a factory race team.

Thanx WR. I don't know, maybe have lost my Helmet (Head). I enjoy doing it, but think it would get old if I had to do it for a living. I agree, just want to ride, but looks like another storm is hitting tomorrow. So, if ya can't ride, ya tinker. So, just rub it in, all your riding! Just wait till this summer when it will be hotter than your radiator down there. But then again, you can go boating.

Speaking of Heads and Helmets, I will post some pics of my Helmet I did this weekend. Had to dress it up a bit, to match the scheme of things. Turned out great!

Before Helmet Pic.

Helmet taped off, stenciled, cut out with exacto knife. Then I scuffed it up with a scotch brite pad and used wax/grease remover, before spraying.

Tape removed leaving red basecoat.

Do any of you old timers remember the decal and the spot?

I still have one that I used for the stencil.

Yep I remember that decal, got my blue Bell Moto with the yellow sticker on top('78 or '79). All scratched up too, some Enduros in PA they would use the drainage tunnels under the Interstates to get from one side to the other, some were kinda low.........

And since I remember that I'm tryin to decide how I feel about being a "old timer":oldman: Helmet looks great by the way

PV,
Ya know, glad to have you back with us again. I get a chuckle everytime you post.

Some of us are scratching our heads wondering where the global warming is. It is not happening in my area. Besides all of our riding places are still closed.

That will change over next couple weeks.

Next time you go mudding. Ride bach thru the creek, then it takes less time and quarters at the car wash.

almost time for a new lid for me...i might just comission you for some art work for it man! baarrrroooop!
