  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

2013 TE449 purchased in December after a 25 year hiatus...can't wait for this snow to go away!!!

Nice bike overall and does more than 1 type of riding ... and I gotta say, I layed off several yrs of riding also (25?) ... Then went back and tried to ride a 02 CR250 2t the same way I rode my '76 CR250 when I was a teenager ... Didn't work out as well as before as I fell off the back of the bike popping wheelies within 3 months ... Crushed a vertebrate and lost an ~inch in height ...

I've read where the first 6 months of riding is where many deaths happen ...Word to the wise...be careful that first 6 months of riding during your comeback...After that long layoff, I think we both might have regressed back to the beginner state to some degree.

Good luck!

I in no way intend to ride the way I use to as a "KID" I will be doing a lot of big easy trail riding in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan no big hills or air. My brother and about 5 other guys talked my into getting back into riding, a couple of them are a little nuts but I'll just stay behind them. My brother slowed down a little when he kissed a tree last year. Slow and steady might not win the race but I won't get any shorter!

Riding your own ride is important because if you're not mindful and diligent, you may find yourself trying to keep up with the fast guys and get in some trouble. Sounds like you have a bead on that already:thumbsup:
