  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wow don't let all that power go to your head! Good bike in it's time. Brakes are suspect if I recall, but its been a while...

Here's the 310 as she currently stands, is due a new plastics & graphics kit which I'll treat it to soon. Waiting for delivery of a new set of swingarm and fork guard decals, rim tapes and some blingy white spoke coats which will go on next week to smarten her up. The PO ran mousses so the rims are a bit scratched, hence the rim tapes. Have the love back for the bike again after last weekend, marshalled a day with the Ady Smith KTM school on Friday to shake her down after another flywheel repair and then stuck the whole race on Sunday at Stourport, so I seem to have killed the reliability gremlins which have given me so much trouble for the last few months....

You work on C-47s in Ct ? Is this at P&W ? Or is this someones pet project ? Cool bike, great plane.

Thanks!

That's at oxford airport (KOXC). That particular plane actually used to be a c-47, then got converted to a dc-3 at some point. It's kinda funny if you look at the data plate for the plane, they literally just put a label under it saying "converted to a dc-3" It's operated by Tradewind aviation, but I work for shoreline aviation. We just happen to share the hangar with each other. Every once and a while we help each other out. I think that picture was right before we towed it outside for an engine run. Meanwhile I was standing outside with a fire extinguisher, and boy, when that thing started they dumped WAYYY too much fuel into it! There was enough smoke to knock out an entire city! The funny thing is, the wind was going south that day, and the 121 restaurant was about 100 feet downwind of it. They weren't very happy!!!

JT in B.C.? I was eyeballing one of those and a 300 fat pipe there. Congrats nice score!

Moto Ohio in the middle of a snow storm! Good guys and they had the TE at a price I couldn't pass up! JT is only about 30min from me so, I would have preferred them but the all mighty dollar drove me to Ohio.

I'm over in Charlotte. My Dad rides a 2009 TE310. First dual sport ride of the year last weekend in April north of Baldwin if this snow ever goes away:thumbsdown:.
