• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09 TXC 250 Carberation?

Recently purchased a new 09 txc 250 from Bill's in Salem, OR. Real nice guys and very accomodating. I went for the great deal on proven tech. over newer tech. One of the shop guys even delivered the bike to my house in Chico, Ca.

Any way, I'm thinking about taking the baffle/spark arrestor out of the bike to pick up a few hp. The bike runs great to date but is definitely on the heavy side compared to my 02' YZF 250. You only really notice this when you have to dead lift the bike or slam the throttle open though. The little bit extra hp. would be a nice compromise. Don't really want to go to the 310 kit unit the bike really needs the rebuild.

My concern is, I've heard that these bike have manifested a bog or stumble down low, which requires a JD Jetting Kit. To date my bike has not exhibited this trait but I've been running it with the arrestor in. In the most recent Dirt Bike they review a 10' txc 450 and indicate that this stumble manifests itself when the arrestor is removed. However, you gain approx. 5 hp. Pretty substantial!

In short, if I go without the arrestor will I need the JD kit?

Another old newbie

Greetings... back to a Husky after a 30 year hiatus. Just purchased an 06 TE610. Bought if for long haul dual sporting. Ride a 200exc for the local trails. Blackbird for the Hwy.

Just been sorting out some carb issues on the Husky. Bike has full Leo Vince motard exhaust. Was running lean. Talked to JD and got some good advice.

Looking forward to learning more here. Already used some info to adjust the valve lash. They were tight.

Thank in advance for the future help. Already looking at 310's, this site is gonna put me in the poor house. :)

Just wanted to say hello. My name is Chris and I reside in the state of Oklahoma. Traded my 07 Honda Sabre 1100 for a 2008 TE610 last Friday. Wasn't really what I was planning on doing that particular day, but.... Anyway, really looking forward to spending some time in the saddle of my new (to me) Husky.

Hi

Hi everyone,

Name is Hennie, from South Africa and I own a 2009 TE610 that I bought new about a month ago. I have been referred to by Blazes (also from South Africa), who is a total Husky freak. i suppose its contagious.

Anyway, glad to be here.

Hello, name is Fred I'm 20 years old and have been riding dirt bikes since I was 2. I have a 1987 Husqvarna 500 XC. Was my Dads bike that he used in open class moto-X racing and hare scrambles back in the day. Uptite racing tuned the bike for him. They put on a top end pipe, Performance reeds, Mikuni carb either 48mm or 52mm I forget, changed the port timing and polished them, bored, stroked, the list goes on. My dad put the updated inverted forks on the bike as well. The bike is a beast and dyno'd at 80HP or so to the wheels. It is also in mint shape, he took meticulous care of this machine and it looks like it just rolled out of the show room.

I'm looking to supermoto race the bike, but as it's so old and rare I don't know what rims will fit on it and that's mainly the only thing holsing me back. I have no clue what to buy for it. If it was my KTM 200EXC or my dads KTM 380 EXC, even a Honda CR500 I would know what to do, but not with this machine

I posted a "how to" on supermoto junkie and they linked me to this site, so here I am :D

And my father also has a 1987 Husqvarna 430 AUTO. If you know where we can get a clutch kit and top end kit for it, it would help us emensly!! Husqvarna just HAD to have the clutch plates be metal on metal instead of metal on composite:banghead: But I thought you'd like to know that he has that because those are very rare as far as I know.

And I wish I could post pictures of both bikes, but I can't yet....
