• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome to the forum! Introduce yourself here!

Hello everyone,

From Manila, Philippines here.

Wish to express my appreciation to the people who created this important site and also to the people who shared their knowledge and experiences on this legendary bike.

Cheer!

Hello All,
New owner of a 2013 TE511. First dirt/dual sport bike ever. Purchased new with Warp 9 SM wheel set as I will mainly be using it for NYC streets and FMF slip on. I believe the ecu was re-mapped with BMW#3. Coming from Liter street bikes from inline fours to twins to triples, this thing is a BEAST**************************************** Looking forward to learn as much as I can about this bike and mods, customizations, etc. Thanks all in advance! P.S. I was originally set on the TR650 but the weight of the bike kind of put me off as I don't do much interstate riding anymore. I was also torn between the 2014 TE310 which is an absolute bat out of hell to ride! It literally feels like a 2 stroke and with the 310 I can see myself getting into some trouble here in NYC so I opted for the TE511 (as I prefer the more predictable power delivery) just waiting for it to arrive. I hope I've made the right choice! Again this will be 90% urban bike. Any other suggestions are highly appreciated! Thanks again all in advance.

Hello fellow motorbike fans, this my first post and say that I've only had my 2004 te250 fo a year. I am a totally hooked and intend to never give it up. I am constantly juggling which motor activity to occupy my time, which I sure many of you can relate to!!

Hey guys, Im new here but I have had my 99 wr 250 for a few years now. It has never let me down. Anyway thanks for the great site and cant wait to get to know people here.

Hi Everybody-

I'm new to the site and new to the world of Husky ownership... I recently purchased a 2010 TE250 and really having a blast on it! It's a great bike that inspires confidence - even to a new rider like me:)

Hi Guys Just got me a 1989 510TE which needs heaps of TLC.... I'm very new to huskies... I had a Yamaha XT500 for many years then went to Suzuki DR750S for a good few years. Now I have a new project after a few years without a bike. I'm about to take it apart and then try to bring it back to it's glory days. Now I would love to get it to start before I pull it apart but are struggling. The bike last started about 3 months ago and was used to jump dunes etc. Any tips anyone can give me will be much appreciated.

Hi I have just found this fantastic site, full of great info and pictures :applause: I have a husqvarna 510 83/84? in bits in my garage for about 13 years and have wanted to restore it and this site will definately be the insparation to do it.

Hello, I just went and started another thread before I noticed this one. Currently considering a TR650 as a adventure bike. If it happens, it will be the first non triumph since about 1997. I have already seen heaps of good info here and even seen I couple of faces/names I recognise. Some that may recognise me and some that won't.

Hi,
Norwegian male here, always had a crush on Husqvarnas, but just now got around to getting my first :)
It's a 99 TE610, and I can't wait to blast through the woods with it! Currently it's stripped down due to camchain failure.
This site looks to be the place to be, there's heaps of great information here!

Jump in the 4 stroke forum and you will find a 449/511 guide right at the top which will provide all the group's wisdom on this subject and more.

Hi All! I just finished a 1300 mile round trip to pick up BMP's last 2013 TXC250R and I can't wait to get it out in the dirt. Bill and Lon were fantastic in setting up the sale and working with me to make sure everything was ready to go when I arrived, then helped me load the bike and lock her down. A+ experience with BMP!
Growning up, my neighbor had a Husky and I've had a soft spot for them ever since. I'm stoked to finally be in the family and looking forward to gleaming info from this portal.

Welcome!

I had to look it up, I never realized I was 100 miles from San Jose i.e. 200 miles closer for the round trip to BMP... and I worked in the south bay for decades.
