• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello everybody .

I'm Dave and I'm a Husky addict. :D

Seriously, I'm kind of excited about just buying this used 2007 TR450 last weekend. ( Even though it's a bit rough...needs work).

My history? I'm 53, an ex- m/c mechanic, been a mech/elec. tech in an industrial manufacturing plant the last 25 years.
Bikes? Many. in the '70's ,.. motocross with 250 Husky's and an Ossa Phantom, RM250 Suzuki and 250 Penton. Then enduro's with Husky's and Pentons ... later KTM's. Most all 250's.
AMA District 6 and 7 and ECEA events. Many hare scrambles sprinkled in too. (No trials, hill climbs or road racing).

Many Suzuki streebikes as well along the way to satisfy the bike "needs" when competition and dirtbikes were out of the question.(Family first, you know).

Ok,.... now, ...... thats me. Who are you ! :D

Dave in delaware.

Welcome Dave!

Glad to see you got past the technical difficulties of logging in

I'll add this thread to the bottom of the welcome thread, many people read every post in that thread, at least I do. :)

I'm new

Hello,

I'm just getting into this Husky bikes. I came off a 07 KTM 300Xc. I located in NJ. Looking forward to riding and talking to you guys and girls.

Howdy...

I'm glad to see so much support for modern Husky's. My gf & I began riding off-road a few years ago and love it. Being 50-ish noobs we're not looking to compete, we just want to have fun in the woods. In the East that means riding "legal" bikes. As our skills improved we've moved to lighter bikes and find our enjoyment has increased. We went from BMW GS's to DRZ's to a 400EXC for me & a WR250F for her.

Well, the gf is ready to upgrade from the WR. That's led us to look at the TE310... and that's what brought me to the Cafe. It looks like the perfect street legal off-road ride plus our favorite local BMW shop is now a Husky dealer too.

We're planning to armor it up with rad guards, skid plate & hand guards, then take it to Drew Smith @ W.E.R to have the suspension set-up for a 5'4", 130# rider. After that, we hit the trail!

Cheers, M.

PS - We still ride street, but not as much as before.

KyEd checking in.
Got a 08 TE610 last week. Too pretty to get dirty yet, but looking forward to doing some riding with you guys around north Ga soon though.

Excellent!! A husky site with extra caffeine!! Luke from West Oz with an 07 WR250. Have not rode it much in the year I have had it-broken leg, dislocated shoulder...and that was on the bicycle!
The motor is awesome but the front forks are downright scary in stock form. Going to get them worked over for my weight (95kg w/out gear) so will post a result soon.
Dus anyone know what spring rate I should have in the rear??
Stock is 5.4 but after the 'sag test' obviously too light.
Oh you guys in the U.S. East? it's a balmy 35 degrees here today, mmmm...think i might go for a late afternoon shred in the bush....
Saw Kelly@Motosportz here too he is an awesome guy to deal with.
My parts arrived before I even sent payment for the freight!
Cheers

Tsk, tsk, tsk...don't you know bicycles are dangerous, PCSOz?

Welcome to CafeHusky, and I hope you heal up quickly and completely so you can get some time on your new ride. Post up your suspension question in the tech forums and you might get a better response:thumbsup:

RE...

I'm a long time Husky rider and enjoy racing Hare Scrambles, X Country, Trials and Enduros.
I also love building and racing '80's Huskys.

Hi All,
Tom here from Georgia. Been following this site for a few months and decided to jump in and join the fun. This past fall I bought my first dirtbike since selling my PE175 in 1990 - still kick myself for that! It's an '84 WR250 and I recently had the engine rebuilt by Stahl Vintage Husqvarna here in GA. Well I'm still breaking in my "new" engine so I can't say much about it yet other than I think I'm really going to enjoy it. I'm looking forward to spending some quality father/son time with my 13 year old and his first bike, an XR80.
If any other Georgia members know of some good woods riding locations, or anything else for that matter, please let me know. Thanks for this forum!

Another new guy. Just saying hi

Hey Guys.

Great site you have here.
Dont get to ride as much as I would like right now, but that should change as my boys get older.
Ive got a 07 TE450 and love it.
Do most of my ridding here in the NW, and enjoy posting ride reports from my adventures.
Ive been a professional photographer for about 15 years now, so if anyone is looking for advice on cameras for photo stuff, I would be glad to help out.
Hope to see some of you guys out on the trails

Waaay off topic here, but it warms my heart to see a guy use the word "enchanting"...especially on a motorcycle forum:applause: I couldn't let it go:)

It's a great word, and the occasions to use it are few and far between. Way to go, ioneater:thumbsup:

And I agree...the photos are enchanting:)
