  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE449 Power up?

Yeah I thought I was letting the clutch out too quick and stalling, so they bumped it up it helped but then I added the JD tuner.

Husqvarna should of added a fresh air valve like KTM's SAS to let air in upon deaccelation. Then the engine would have met strict emissions without the dangerous stalling.

Do you have to reset the TPS before adjusting the Air bypass screw? Mine over runs, rev hangs, no flame outs that I am aware of, though did stall it the other day, had to lay the bike down, but i put it down to me really

Just to clarify, there is only map 1&2. There are 3 sets of map 1&2. Set 1 comes installed from the factory and is very lean due to emission standards. Set two is a richer version of set 1. Set 3 is the maps I have been loading. These maps are tuned for racing exhausts with racing headers. They also work great with stock exhausts.

Sorry Still somewhat confused, but I do have the problem of revs holding sometimes when throttle closed on my TE449 2013, running race map 2, would adjusting the Air bypass screw like you listed at top of thread help with this problem, or do I need to acquire the 3 set of maps.

Kinda sounds like you have a sticking TPS. I would definitely take it in to a shop and have them hook it up to a HST and run a diagnostic. While you are there, they can reflash the ecu too.

Check out what I just created on the CNC machine ....now if I could only weld aluminum I would build me a tail rack with the emblem engraved on it.

One of he guys mentioned R&D updated his ecu when he had his SMR last serviced, give Stefan a call and see what he says. Then let us know what he says :p

Just called Stefan at R&D here in Sydney and I will need to speak to his mechanic next week about it. He seemed to believe that loading the #3 maps onto a 2011 TE449 ECU was a big problem / impossible as opposed to a 2012/13 model ECU?? Tinken - Can you shed any light on this or had any similar experience so far? If it's a drama here in Australia and you can do it no problem I'll have to ship my ECU Stateside to you.

Well... you have to solder across E11 and E15 and dial back the Rms voltage until you reach 0.031 volts...

haha, just kidding. no soldering. I can do it no problem.

If I load Race Map 3 into the ECU, do I need to install the jumper into the wiring harness? My new 2013 didn't come with the jumper and I would like to ride it this weekend with the good map.

You can just use a piece of copper wire or thermostat wire for the jumper, it is nothing special.

You are basically closing a switch to get to map 2. I wired the switch to my handlebars to toggle back and forth.

I'm not sure what the drama is unless they are locked which I have come across. There are several different country modes on them, I can't really see why there would be a problem?

Tinken,
I was told that map3 would not install on the ECU on my 2011 SMR511, and that it would only work on TE and TCs. Do you know if that is true?

Hahahaha! Started looking at that pic and thought how the hell are you in business doing all that for $40 :D

Thanks Tinken. Appreciate the response and I'll see how I go on Tuesday.

**"MEGASQUIRT" LOL

AFAIK the ECU on the SMR is exactly the same as the TE, so I don't know why it wouldn't work.
