• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

Here's my '84 250 that I've owned it since '87. There have been a few mods along the way. I changed the front end to an '88 setup and luckily I was able to score a NOS tank on ebay a few years back. The bike has been ridden alot since then, so the tank doesn't look new anymore, but I do drain the tank after each use and it hasn't yellowed yet.

Very nice! I keep thinking about putting the front end from my now in pieces '87 430WR on my '82 250WR. I never get to ride any AHMRA events any way.

Here are a couple pics of the 1978 250 OR that I've been restoring/building. Need to get a decent pipe for it yet.

Thanks mattskn,
I really like what you've done with your 83 250 XC.
That bike looks awesome with the black frame, swingarm, and wheels. I may borrow some of your ideas for my next project.

I like this pic, but old bikes and old backs/knees should not be subjected to this kind of abuse.

Now that is "Full Travel" !

More importantly... what are you doing riding in that cold weather... old bikes break due to frozen parts!!!

Also... if you are going to do that kind of stuff, put on a skid plate before you ruin your frame****************************************

Where have you been? We've missed you and were just about ready to send out an RCMP search party!

my $40.00 1979 390 auto project

She's beaten battered bruised but she's all mine (its kinda like having an ugly girlfriend) so this is the starting point for my project husky twin shocker, it's a 1979 390 automatic in horrible condition. The motor was locked up both wheels frozen to the axles no seat and plenty of critters living on and in her.

My $40.00 husky 390 auto takin shape

Here's some pics after a little hard work! Still debating on using the auto motor or trying to find a decent or/cr/wr 6 speed motor. The auto is going to need a crank for sure but tranny looks real clean maybe just a set of clutch shoes for the primary:applause:

Please check with me regarding this. The word 'auction' causes me concern, lots of things could go wrong. Unless you mean putting it up on ebay, then all those logistical issues have been worked out.

Schimmelaw,
My next project is underway. I bought this '90 250 WXE a month or so ago. I'm not going all out on this one as it's practically new to start.
The Kawasaki was done earlier this year. I usually manage about 6 builds a year
1990 Husqvarna 250 WXE / 1997 Kawasaki KDX220R rebuild / KDX200R completed
