• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

Linny999- dude, you must NOT be married because if I ever did that.....

Has to be married, if you look close the stairs aren't cluttered with riding gear, boots, helmets and the other clue.....table=not full of bike magazines, bike parts, beer cans and pizza boxes.

My wife is very patient as the "tech tip" post stated. My garage/shop is attached to the house. I have a 39 Chevy coupe "gasser" It only runs on 114 Purple Plus gas. She said she didn't mind the smell of that race gas exhaust filtering into the house-"smells sweet". We had that light beige carpet in the house for five years, four year old that would let the dog in the house with muddy feet did it in- I may have accelerated it also. Long summer of hardwood floor refinishing was worth it.

:) Yes, the jetting is changed...in fact...I have changed the complete Carburetor.
The bike is made for Vintages racing in the pre 70 class with Ikon shocks, Mikuni VM36 carb and soon PVL ignition.
The bike is starting to work real fine !
No its up to me...Right shift and short suspension is a challange!

My daughters boy freind Dangerious Dave and I with my old bones entered a twin shock meeting in the UK for the first time end of last year on my 430 in an 83 frame ,other than the helicopter being called in to take some broken old bone to the hospital (not me) sunny day great track we are hooked.

Here is my 1988 te 510 I bought from the original owner somewhere around 1996. Other than the sportster mufflers because the steel parts of the original ones got so corroded even I gave up on them and the 85-85 floppy disc front brake I like better it is stock best as I can remember. I hadn't used it for quite a few years but it sounds like the quads commonly heard in the area so I got it going again. It was registered in Connecticut so I could re register it there however in West Virginia they have annual inspection stickers. It is hard to believe that a four valve per cylinder mono shock bike is vintage. I guess I need to get a few seat covers for my various bikes and the swingarm protectors probably should be formed in the shape they are to be used in as this one was broken at the bend and I have bought a bunch of them and made a bunch of them.

Nice Bikes!

Dave J

You have some really nice bikes !
My friend SweHusky are in the middle of restoring his XC 430 -82 and your picture will give him a great boost to finishing it

I bought a WR430 1983 (with -84 plastic) this saturday and your photos make me sure that I have done the right thing.

Felt that I needed a machine with long legs :)
