• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

-82 430, Renovation

Hello Dave J and Josegull.

Dave, your bikes looks great esp the -black -82, this is my machine this evening, its a xc430-82, not much work to make it run and then shake down. (The shake down on my -72 seams never to end, this year it will!

Best Regards !

The good, the getting there and the ugly

82-430XC, before the detail guys shoot me, yes the tank is wrong. The perfect black tank is on my shelf because everyone that looks at it rubs there finger on it and says "thats shiny". The red tank goes on my 82-CR250 "in process" White one is a 84 WR250, before the detail guys reload- I put a 83CR250 tank/seat on it. Sorry cant embrace the newer stuff yet. The ugly, 82-CR250 was my $200 Christmas present to myself. Good friend bought it brand new, changed a couple of hands over the years but always looked nice. Last few years looks like it went down the "meth" road a couple of times. Got the pink slip with it which surprised me. It was still in my friends name from new. Runs good but will be next winters project.

well somebody asked, so here it is .
1984 husky 500 ,started life as an ae but after a lot of problems the previous owner got hold of an 86 motor (water cooled) took off barrel and head and put on the head and barrel from ae motor so now has 5 speed box . i have changed nearly every nut and bolt and every bearing .frame has been shot blasted and powder coated ,engine completly stripped ,painted and put back together with new gaskets and every bearing done and i mean every bearing, new clutch, rear shocks were stripped and rebuilt by falcon shocks( wish i had repainted them) and all put back together with love and affection.
after nearly 20 years off from the sport i entered a twinshock race last sept and blow me if i didnt come away with a first overall after having a bloody good day racing with dave j .
more pics to follow.

That 430 looks sweet. Quick question about the dual leading shoe brake set-up. What is that off of? I know of an 81 XC 430 for sale localy and was wondering if it to would have such a brake set-up?

Where can I find a rear fender like that with the number plates molded in? Always loved that look. Didn't Kawasaki have those stock back in the 80's?
